Surprise lit his golden eyes as he glanced at Adelle, then he recomposed his expression and stayed silent before finally commenting, "I see. I see that you have experienced something that stains the mind."

"Evil is a point of view."
She nodded, "Yes, the heart too..." She sighed deeply, closing her eyes; she then shook her head as if ridding the images that played in her mind. The whole thing made her sick, confused, angry, and sad all at the same time.
After a moment she recollected herself. "Anyway, I've heard about you guys and I decided that I wanted...needed to find you, to learn from you."

He stilled for a moment, then let out a short sigh, "Unfortunately there truly is not much to learn from us. It takes extreme self control on your own to be able to live our way, and just as unfortunate, that is not very easy to achieve."

"Oh, I've noticed," she said with a hint of frustration. "It's only been a week and I'm losing control." She stared past Jasper, thinking. "Maybe he was right," she breathed, mostly to herself. "Maybe this is a fools errand."

"He?" Jasper asked curiously, then shook his head, somehow he had a feeling this topic was best to be saved for later, "Fool's errand, that may be, but it truly does take courage to resist what normal vampires do." He smiled faintly then, "Self-control is not easy, and it will only increase the regret more. But it can be done, as you can see in this household. I like to believe that nothing is truly impossible."

She looked around and then at him. "Yes, I believe that as well. I mean, hell, look at us!" she said, gesturing between them. "Anyway...is it alright if I..." she seemed to change her mind mid-sentence. "If I stay a while? If I'm going to do this, I need time." Time, she nearly scoffed at the thought; that's all she had was time. Sadness flitted across her face very briefly as she thought of the people who she had left behind from her mortal life.

When he felt a slight change in mood, Jasper almost knew exactly what she was thinking about. Time. A thing which all vampires have unless they are to be killed by hunters or slayers and the like. Time which they could spend unless stopped by even their own kin. Time which allowed them to live much longer than those that they could have loved.
He was relieved to know that he was not one who had fallen for a mortal, but rather with one of his own, and when he thought about his significant other, he nearly chanced a smile.
Breathing in carefully, though he did not truly need the extra oxygen in his dead lungs, he gave her a polite smile, "This I can't decide. We will have to wait for my 'father' to come home."
'Father', meaning Carlisle, but every vampire can easily know that the term can be used in different ways. Carlisle was anything but a biological father to Jasper, nor was he really a father that turned him immortal. Unfortunately. After all, had he been the one, his past probably would not have been as miserable.

She nodded, understanding. "Of course. May I sit?" she asked, gesturing to the living room. "Out of curiosity, how many of you are there, that live like this, I mean?" Now she allowed her curiosity, rather than need, fuel her questions.

She sat down, crossing her legs. "Oh? Exciting," she said, remembering when she was first turned. Beyond the pain was the excitement and intrigue of exploring her new, enhanced senses and powers. "How is he? she? fairing?"

"For now, she is fairing well." Jasper murmured as he looked down to the nice carpet, contemplating on the nice design, "However, that is simply because she has not been around humans as often now. As a precaution."

Adelle nodded, "Understandable...I assume," she said with a slight laugh. "Being 'born' into a...er...family like this must be infinitely different than it was for the rest of us." She fell silent for a few moments, not knowing what to say; she never was the best conversationalist. Not that she'd needed small talk in the last couple, immortal, years.

Jasper's eyes narrowed then, his lips tight in a hard line, and then he relaxed his face with a weak smile, "Indeed it is, certainly not something we, who are changed unwillingly, would have felt ever in our--naturally--everlasting lifetime."
With the emphasis of the word 'we', it was almost guaranteed to show that Jasper was certainly not born the same way as Bella--or any of those whom Carlisle changed. Jasper silenced for a moment, feeling the atmosphere growing heavy from their already awkward conversation. It certainly was not easy enough to begin such an awkward conversation, now it was not easy to carry it on.

"It was hardly involuntary for me," Adelle mused, thingying her head slightly. "On the contrary, I was overjoyed at the prospect to become one of the d**ned." She flashed him a wry smile as she thought of how in love with just the idea of vampires when she was still human. "How very foolish I was; not that I regret being turned, mind you, just the fashion of which I lived."

Jasper slightly narrowed his eyes, the action almost unnoticeable, "I see..." he murmured, having nothing to say about such a decision as this. "You were willing to sacrifice much for an eternally d**ned life, amusing. Our new member made the same decision of sacrificing her human life to join us."
