Antoinette smiled at the car. It was a black BMW, sitting in the parking lot next to the airport, rather lonely, she thought. She didn't need to know everything about cars to know it was fast, it just had the sleek smooth fast look expensive cars screamed. Her new car. She felt temporarily bad for the owner, then she realized anyone with that amount of cash can do without one car for a while. She'd just end up abandoning it later, when she was far enough away from the humans that they wouldn't notice her running.
Definitely a no-no. She had lived long enough to know that humans didn't exactly enjoy being in the presence of something that could run a hell of a lot faster. That was an understatement, but she didn't linger on the thought. In minutes, she had her new car pulled out with skill that someone who hadn't driven a car in fifty years shouldn't be able to achieve.
But her thoughts were not at ease, although her calm demeanor suggested otherwise, she was having an internal battle. She was sure the Cullens probably knew she was coming(they did have Alice after all), but her main worry was on whether or not they'd accept her. Sure... she'd made some mistakes in life. Okay, that was an understatement, she'd killed at least a hundred humans herself, and was the accomplice in killing many more, but shouldn't the fact people weren't frightened of her say something? That the once bone chilling crimson eyes were now a gold, made by many years of dedication to not becoming what she was, deep down inside?
Antoinette tried to soothe her frayed nerves, but it was useless, the nervous, anxious part of her overruled the peaceful side.
She glided onto the road with ease, and once she was far enough away from the airport and their annoying police, she could begin to not go at a snails pace. She speeded, careless, weaving through the cars crowding the roads until she got closer, and closer to her destination. She breathed slowly, it smelled so much more different here than her France.
Everything was sharped by the moistness in the air, fresher. In France there was a calming smokey smell that came from the layers of pollution in the air.
Eventually the highway became a less traveled upon road. She had already abandoned her car, and it was a sad departing, but she needed to stretch her legs, she had been cramped up in that airplane for so long. Days.
She tried not to let her thoughts get into the doubt zone again, but her attempts were futile as she could easily see how they would reject her. She spent most of her life avoiding awkward situations such as these, and yet here she was, practically asking people to adopt her. She wanted to crawl back to France right now and never come back to Forks. It would be so much easier.
OOC;; Sorry it's so long. I ended up kind of babbling. I'm sorry !
